Clinical Thermography

At PINTO COELHO CLINIC®LIVE LONGER, we offer advanced clinical thermography technology as part of our commitment to providing accurate diagnostics and innovative healthcare.

A Thermography is one of the most modern methods of digital imaging diagnostics, using a high-performance infrared camera to generate high-resolution thermal images of the patient's body. This exam allows the detection of transformations in organs, tissues, muscles, and skin by capturing thermal variations emitted by the body. With this technology, it’s possible to identify numerous diseases and physiological changes early on, often before they are detected by other methods.

  • Early Detection: Can identify changes in breast tissue (benign or malignant cysts) up to 10 years before they appear in a mammogram.
  • Prevention and Monitoring: Essential for cancer prevention and monitoring, especially in individuals with a family history.
  • Radiation-Free: Emits no radiation and is painless, allowing for repeated use as needed.
  • Versatility: Used to detect various types of cancers, cysts, disc herniations, sinusitis, septal deviations, and inflammatory processes.
  • Frequency: Determined by the patient's issue and medical follow-up.
  • Complementarity: Medical Thermography does not replace other exams like mammography but complements diagnosis and monitoring.
  • Two days before Avoid excessive sun exposure and sunburn.
  • 24 hours before Avoid intense sports activities.
  • On the day of the exam:
    1. Avoid massages or therapies that warm or cool the body.
    2. Avoid excessive use of cosmetics, creams, moisturizers, or ointments.
    3. Avoid very hot baths and come without sweating. Do not shave or wax three hours prior.
    4. Perform other exams or procedures (MRI, CT scan, ultrasound, X-ray) after thermography.
    5. Avoid medications such as anti-inflammatories, corticosteroids, and decongestants unless prescribed by a doctor.
    6. Arrive fasting for one hour and avoid alcohol, stimulants, and caffeinated drinks three hours before.
    7. Remove watches, rings, bracelets, earrings, headbands, and necklaces three hours prior. Do not wear tight clothing on the day of the exam.
    8. Avoid smoking three hours before and refrain from using a phone against your face for one hour before.
    9. During the wait, do not cross arms or legs and avoid touching body parts.
  • Duration: About 20 to 30 minutes maximum
  • Process: The patient is placed in a room at 23°C for thermal equilibrium, then positioned in front of the thermographic camera. Images are captured and evaluated.
  • Attire: For full-body thermography, the patient should wear only underwear.
