The hardest news for anyone to hear, the diagnosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) of his son Bernardo, led Manuel Pinto Coelho MD PhD to a quest to delay its outcome, which introduced him to the immense importance of food for health and a set of tools available that can prevent the disease, help in its cure, and enable a longer and healthier life.
